How To Manage Your Life Admin Like a Boss

When you’re a busy parent, there can be so much to do. Take a look at what is on your to-do list today as an example. Not talking about the jobs you have for work or deadlines, but the life admin that needs to be organised and arranged. Even going to find a cash machine to get some money out can be a task that can evaporate an hour of your time. Not to mention parties, emails, make packed lunches, clean and iron uniform, and arranging a babysitter, as well as cleaning and tidying the house.

It seems like no matter how hard you try; there is always some life admin to deal with. It makes sense that we forget to do so many things or simply put them off because we have so much to deal with on a daily basis. So if you feel like you’re drowning in a sea of never-ending to-do lists, then here are some tips and tricks to help you.

Use Kettle Boiling Time To Your Advantage

There can be some time in the day when we need to make ourselves a cuppa to be able to face the rest of the day. But those few minutes can be time to take advantage of. Two birds and one stone and all of that. You could throw on a load of washing, put clothes to dry, empty the dishwasher, or put some dishes away. Just have a look around and see what needs to be done. Even if it is simply RSVP-ing to all of those school birthday party invites in those precious couple of minutes. Getting those kinds of thing ticked off can be so satisfying.

Dedicate Time For Life Admin

We all lead similar but yet very different lives. And what works for some might not work for others. Some might prefer one day a week to deal with all things admin related. Others may prefer more than once a week. But whatever you decide, choose a day and dedicate it to sorting things out. Whether it is a Wednesday, a Friday, or both. They could be laundry days, email days, rearranging insurance days, meal planning days, and planning days. You can use that time to look into the things that you’ve not given yourself time for before, like life insurance, a will, and perhaps even things like funeral plans. As the co-operative funeralcare says, making decisions now makes things easier for everyone in the future. So choose a day or two and make those your life admin days and stick to it.

Have a Cupboard For Mess

Sometimes, you just need a space for all of the mess. So if you want to take a leaf out of Monica from Friends’ book, then having a ‘mess’ cupboard is just what you need. Putting things away until you can deal with them on your admin days (see above), can be a huge help to keep you sane. This parenting business can be tough, so the small things like this can really help.

Have you got any tips that you find helps you?
