The Prezzo #LaFamiglia Challenge

On Sunday we took part in the Prezzo LaFamiglia Challenge. The challenge involved us testing out the new LaFamiglia range at Prezzo. We love Italian food and we especially love  Italian food at Prezzo, therefore the opportunity was not so much of a challenge – more of a pleasure and a fantastic opportunity to spend time with the family!
The LaFamiglia experience invites you to choose as a family, one pasta dish that you can share. The dish of pasta arrives in a huge bowl, which encourages interaction and promotes sharing.
Hmm – sharing, now there’s a challenge in itself! Being twins, my daughters have learnt to share at a very young age. They haven’t really had a choice! Same mum and dad, same birthday, same brother, same room, same clothes (although we are getting better at this) and same friends. As for food they have been sharing the same food since weaning stage! We do encourage each of my daughters to be independent of each other, so we were interested to see how the dynamics would work when choosing the pasta dish and who would want their share first. Although the girls are experts at sharing we do have some explosive moments when they don’t agree.
We booked a table at Prezzo in Ripon, North Yorkshire. We have visited before and love the modern airy interior and the staff are always lovely and attentive.
The challenge included 4 soft drinks, 2 large pizza breads, a LaFamiglia pasta dish and 4 ice creams.
We could choose from :-
– Spaghetti Bolognese
– Penne Arrabiata
– Spaghetti Carbonara
– Penne Alla Rusticana
Amazingly without any problems we settled on Penne Alla Rusticana. We were tempted by the Penne Arrabiata, but thought it maybe a little spicy for the girls. The staff were great and said that we could have reduced the chilli if we liked.
We then chose a large pizza bread with cheese and a large pizza bread with caramelised onions.

Whilst we were waiting for the food to arrive the girls completed their colouring sheet – helpfully provided by Prezzo!

Then we messed around with my phone taking photo’s of us all in the mirror which was on the ceiling above the table!

In no time at all the pizza breads arrived and they were gorgeous as well as being huge. The girl were really hungry at this point and ate loads – as did my husband and I!

We were well and truly stuffed by the time the pasta arrived, but we ate quite a lot considering! The whole dish was lovely. It was presented attractively and tasted divine. The girls enjoyed helping to dish up the food, which came with both a large serving spoon and tongues.
Interestingly one of my daughters (youngest by 1 minute!) dived in with helping to serve the food. Whilst my other daughter was happy to sit back and observe and make comments every now and then to make sure we were doing it right! this is a true reflection of their personalities in everyday life.

The pasta was lovely and is such good value. A dish serving four people costs £18.90 whereas each individual pasta dish is £7.90 alone Economical as well as delicious!

My hubby will love me for this one!

We couldn’t eat all the pasta, which was a shame as there was loads left over. I think the dish could have easily served four adults! We needn’t have worried though as the staff offered to pack up the left over pasta for us to take home, which was fab as it was so delicious. That being said – no matter how full you are there’s always room for dessert – right?

Chocolate ice cream all round and orange sorbet for me – unsurprisingly there were no left overs from the ice cream. Utterly scrumptious!
All in all we had a lovely meal at Prezzo in Ripon and would definitely recommend the LaFamiglia dishes. A great way to spend Sunday Lunch.
The Prezzo restaurant chain has more than 280 restaurants across the UK.

* We were given a complimentary LaFamiglia meal for our family. In return for our honest review. All thoughts and words are my own.

looks great. If there is one challenge that my family would be able to conquer together, it would be eating tons of food. #triumphanttales
