Castle Howard Proms August 19th 2017 Preview

My family and I are so excited to be attending Castle Howard Proms on Saturday 19th August. The concert style event looks spectacular and has an amazing line-up of guests. It will be the first time my girls will have attended a classical concert and what a backdrop the stunning setting of Castle Howard in North Yorkshire promises to be!

The opening of the event will begin with the evocative sound of the last remaining spitfire.

We are really looking forward to seeing Brit award winners Blake, as well as Joanna Forest, who is a rising classical soprano star. I am also looking forward to my children experiencing live music from the London Gala Orchestra in this magnificent outdoor venue. Even better is the fact that the event is “picnic style” so a relaxed atmosphere for experiencing a classical concert for the first time.

The children are especially excited by the firework finale!

Castle Howard Proms 2017

Set on the sweeping North Lawn, this spectacular classical concert will be a night to remember for the whole family.The evocative sound of the last remaining Spitfire with its original wartime service engine will open Castle Howard’s Proms 2017 in patriotic style.

Confirmed guests include Brit Award winners Blake and rising classical star soprano Joanna Forest, who will be joined on stage by the London Gala Orchestra.

The programme will include popular classics, songs from musicals and Proms favourites including Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Pomp & Circumstance No 1 all of which will create a magical evening of music which concludes with a stunning laser and firework finale.
