1.   Open Up and Separate Space
One of the most important features of a penthouse is openness. You will need to make your small flat look spacious by adding light and opening spaces. An American kitchen can be a great idea with a kitchen island in the middle, and your designer glasses displayed on the side. Instead of using doors, use natural looking wooden room dividers, so you can still see the entire space, but know that they are separated by function.
2.           Change Your Layout
The typical penthouse layout is open plan, and if you have narrow corridors and doors, you will first need to get rid of these. You will need bedroom doors, but not a heavy oak one. Try to use a sliding door, or a mirror, or a space divider that can be fully closed. Your bathroom might also need to be relocated to accommodate guests, and you could open up the space to more light by installing additional windows.
3.           Add Gloss
The best way to add a penthouse finish to your apartment or flat is to decorate your surfaces. If you are happy with your kitchen, simply change the doors and drawer faces, as well as the handles and surfaces. Add a bit of elegant glitter and shine. A quality finish is important: use black, graphite, white, and bold red.
4.           Display High-Tech
Penthouses benefit from 21st century technology. Have your home theatre displayed in a central position, and install a carbon footprint monitor displayed. Show off your home assistant devices, and install a multi room audio system. Install ambient lighting that can be remotely controlled, and add the latest smart technology to your home. 5.           Declutter and Decorate
If you have a small apartment, it is extremely important that you make the most out of the space available. You need to hide all your clutter behind gloss wardrobe doors and in carefully hidden drawers. Use sliding wardrobe doors to make your home appear spacious and carefully designed, instead of looking like an ordinary flat. Use bold colours for decorating; don’t overdo feature walls. Less is more, when it comes to penthouse style.
You can easily turn your flat into a small penthouse, if you follow the latest tech and design trends. Hide your clutter and personal items behind gloss doors, open up spaces, and use bold colours. Make your layout impressive, and make it work for your style. Add a little decoration, such as modern paintings and statues, but don’t mix and match styles.

In my opinion, The best way to add value to a property is to add square footage. Extending a property, when done right, will automatically boost its value.
