Rustler Burger Hacking Challenge

We all have busy lives, so anything that can reduce the time spent slaving over a hot stove on occasions is a winner for me!
I agreed to take part in the BritMums Rustler Burger Hacking Challenge to see if we could conjure up something tasty that all the family would love from Rustlers Southern Fried Chicken Burgers.
Off we went to Tesco and found the burgers very easily in the chiller cabinet. I like the fact that there is a use by date, as sometimes food with a long sell by date is preserved with chemicals to within an inch of its life! I was impressed to note that the chicken is fully traceable to the farm it was originally sourced from, it is also of good quality, marinated and coated in a southern fried bread crumb.
We then hit a problem, quite a large one really as we don’t own a microwave! After the last one broke we just haven’t got round to replacing it. It was fine though as we visited grandparents and had lunch there.
The burgers were so easy to prepare, 90 seconds in a microwave! To give the burgers a little more interest we toasted the buns and added lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup and mayonnaise, We could have been a little more creative by adding salsa, guacamole and relish, but my family is fairly conservative in their taste! There is even a relish included in the pack, everything except the salad! We added a few chips on the side.
The burgers were so well received that I didn’t take as many photo’s a I thought. A half eaten burger is not the best look!

The burgers were thoroughly enjoyed by all and I would by them again, for a quick lunch option. The burgers cost £2.50 for a twin pack.
Why not pop down to you local Tesco’s and try them for yourself!
