Eventually you reach an age when a night relaxing in front of the TV becomes more appealing than a big night out! Being a busy mum of four, having time to totally chill and relax is in short supply. It’s also quite tricky to find babysitters for four children and even though my boys are at babysitting age now, they have a better social life than me and tend to be out more often than not! Time to yourself is so important though, so when Sanctuary Bathrooms contacted me to take part in their perfect night in blogger campaign, I jumped at the chance.
A lovely box filled with amazing goodies arrived from Sanctuary Bathrooms and the aroma on opening the box was gorgeous! I set a date for my perfect night in, for when my hubby was out gigging and my sons were busy. Let’s face it the chocolate was destined for me and I wasn’t sharing! I organised a movie night for myself and seven year old twins, which consisted of duvets, pillows, Paddington 2, crisps and chocolate. Happily stuffed full of junk food my girls toddled off to bed.
I then retreated into my bathroom for a lovely hour sampling all the fabulous toiletries. I was also sent a bath rack, which was perfect for resting a glass of prosecco, book and Yankee candle! Spending quality “me” time is so important. It gives you the chance to recharge your batteries and emerge, ready to face whatever challenges life throws at you. Having teenagers the challenges can be unpredictable to say the least!
With winter around the corner, there’s a definite chill to the air. I’m definitely going to schedule a few more “perfect nights in”. To add to the experience, fresh clean sheets are always a bonus and I need to get some new fluffy towels, which I’m going to save just for nights like these! Another tip is to make sure your bathroom is sparkling before you start, there’s nothing more distracting than compiling a “cleaning to do” list in your mind whilst sipping your prosecco!
