This months Bostik Blogger theme is “beaches and holidays”, which couldn’t have come at a better time following a wonderful week in Devon. It gave us the chance to use the huge amount of beach finds we returned home with
We opened the craft supplies from Bostik with great excitement, then let our imaginations run wild! Who couldn’t get excited with sparkly paper, pom poms, stars and ribbon! We also received a package containing PVA glue, Glue Dots and Micro Dots from Bostik.
We decided to begin by making beach huts. We used mini cereal boxes, which we turned inside out, using the PVA glue to stick down the sides. We then painted the boxes with acrylic paint and added stripes, sparkly doors, pom poms and stars. We created flower pots, filled with tissue flowers. The Glue dots were excellent at sticking everything in place and we used the micro dots for the tissue flowers.
We then covered a tray with silver foil and covered half of it with sand to make the “beach”. We placed the beach huts on the sand and created the sea with blue card cut into wave shapes, sparkly paper for the waves and added fish and star fish. Bunting was created by using marshmallow toasting sticks, ribbon and cut out flags, all stuck together by Glue dots. The glue dots made the whole process really easy, so much better than sellotape!
We then had loads of fun adding all the details. Buckets and spades were created with egg boxes, shells and sea glass from Devon added to the decorative effect. A picnic rug was created with paper and miniature food items were added.
I love watching the girls being so creative and the best thing is once they have made something, they normally put it to good use later with imaginative play. As soon as we had finished creating the beach scene, the LOL’s moved in!
We can’t wait until June, when we will be busy creating crafts with a birthday theme.
