It has been an incredibly long time since I last updated my blog. Essentially I have spent the last four years working in a job which I love, supporting young autistic adults to thrive and be their authentic selves. I had a brief return to nursing in the NHS after regaining my PIN in 2020, but quickly realised that my passion lies in the learning disability field. I can honestly say that I get as much back from supporting the individuals I am privileged to work with, as I hope they do from me.

I have also discovered or rediscovered my love of nature and being outdoors. The outdoors has always felt like home to me. Not the kind with walls and windows, but the kind built from forests, trails, rivers, and endless skies. Nature has a way of slowing time down, reminding me to notice small things: the sound of birds at sunrise, the smell of rain on earth, or the warmth of sunlight through the trees. As a child I could always be found in the garden digging up worms, making bird tables and planting seeds, I guess you never lose that, although I do now leave digging for worms to the garden birds!

Alongside rediscovering the great outdoors, I have developed an interest in photography and I love creating short videos of my rambles. Some of the accompanying music choices have been described as a little eclectic. They are not very professional, but If you would like to take a look at my Instagram (trulymadly13) and TikTok (trulymadlycuckoo) profiles, that would be amazing!
Thanks so much!
